Extra text in IE6

This error is IE6 specific, but may happen in IE7. If you've ever noticed extra text, or ghost text, which appears on your page, but is not in your HTML code, then this is that problem.
The issue arises when there is hidden inputs, or commented HTML tags within your code (around the area where the extra text is showing up).

The solution is to move (by shifting the node positions) the tags, or just removing them (the comments) completely if they are not needed.

I have to thank the people in this thread that addressed this issue. I doubt I would have been able to identify this problem without seeing that discussion.

Snow Leopard Issues

Ever since I installed Snow Leopard, my system intermittently froze for exactly 40 seconds. It drove me nuts as it happened about once or twice every hour. I'm glad to say that issue has been resolved as Apple released an update this week that seems to have solved this issue.
Another issue I had was trying to re-install my Canon Pixma MP620 printer. The printer is connected wirelessly through the network and it took me a while to figure this out.
So for those of you who still need to do this or are having problems, try these steps:
1) Download the updatedCanon IJ Network Utility.
2) Run Apple's Software Update (I forgot about this and took me about an hour to figure this out)
3) You should be able to see your MP620 through the network now

Time Machine backup problems

I've been trying for the past week to back up my data but I haven't been able to because Time Machine (for Mac) keeps failing out. Every time I tried to run a backup, the system would stall out and output "Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while copying files to the backup volume."

After some research, I discovered out how to view the errors since the error popup was not descriptive at all. You have two options, you can type out backupd in Console and that will output the errors. The better option which I prefer is getting TM Error Logger by Carnation Software. It is a simple to use application that displays just the errors from Time Machine, this is a better option for the novice user who is not as savvy with using console commands.

I keep running into Error 11 for some reason which means it's a hardware exception. I am trying to figure out if it's something specific to the file that was causing the error and how to repair it. Running Disk Utility is my last hope. I'm not sure what else I can try at this point.

Metronomic Issues Resolved

I have finally fixed the timing issues (regarding high tempo) with the new release of Metronomic v4.1

The analog visualization has also been re-implemented with a much more accurate frame rate. There might be some confusion as to the terminology as I have modified the labels to more standard music definitions. The current BPM is now Beats Per Measure rather than Beats Per Cycle(BPC), and the more properly termed Tempo instead of Beats Per Minute(BPM).

I hope this resolves most of the current issues and please keep sending me in your feedback. Thanks!

Happy 2008

I haven't had time to update my portfolio much, but I will soon.

A new widget has been added to the projects portfolio, the Clarinet Fingering Chart widget. It's not yet complete and will probably have a revamped version with sounds within the next few weeks. I'm not a clarinetist, and my music knowledge mostly lies in theory. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any insights into improving the widget. Thanks.

Happy 2008!

Metronomic Update and U-Mobile Beta

I have released a new version of Metronomic. I have applied minor changes due to comments such as adding a different sound for the first beat as well as removing the analog visualization.

The comments and suggestions, though some un-constructive, are greatly appreciated! I have been getting a lot more comments recently and I'm glad that more and more people are starting to use it. There are some possible new features I am possibly thinking of adding and are currently being addressed pending technical obstacles.

I have been learning and playing around with Ruby on Rails recently, and though it is not complete yet, I thought I could get some feedback regarding a new beta version of the U-mobile website. As of now, the functionality and databases aren't working yet, but I would like to hear how the new design looks. This is a learning project as my knowledge of Ruby on Rails is very limited.

I've been gone for the past few weeks(in Miami, and Toronto/NY) and I have uploaded some photos up on my flickr account. Feel free to take a look!
